I’ve started taking some time to capture behind the scenes moments at our shoots. All the vendors work so hard to bring them together it would be easy to fill a memory card of just them working. Like weddings though, styled shoots are on a timeline and as much as I wish I could, I can’t be everywhere at once.

There are always 10 things happening at once and we often find ourselves tag teaming certain areas. A common situation is when I finish photographing the invitation suite and the videographer finishes getting roll of the details, we’ll switch. This will happen throughout the day. Meanwhile, the stylist, florist, rentals decorator and caterers and cake designer will be doing their own little dance to get tables and displays ready. There is definitely an order to things, but once the final touches are nearing, things can get a little hectic.

I decided to start sharing behind the scenes moments for a few reasons. One main reason though, is that people are actually fascinated by them. I realized this when I would share these photos with couples during consultations (an easy and fun icebreaker) and in discussions with my family. I noticed a lot of you guys are really interested to see how our work happens. Clients are usually not privy to all these little moments because they are busy living the day. We see it all the time so we maybe don’t value and appreciate what that process looks like the same way you might.

That being said, I’ve got a few fun shots from our recent destination wedding inspiaration shoot at Chateau Polonez. There is also an awesome video with some great behind the scenes moments from our videographer!!!

Holly from Flower Vibes is adding some finishing touches to the glorious display of food styled by Chef Rae from Kouture Kuisine!

Makeup artist Hayley not only primped our male couple, she did up two of our wedding vendors to pose as guests! Meanwhile, Liz was busy making sure every detail of this cake shot was perfect…suspenders and all.

Liz has a tendency to be everywhere at once. As our stylist and coordinator extraordinaire, she has eyes on all four sides of her head and can spot an ill-folded napkin a mile away!
