We did this very colorful wedding inspiration shoot at the River Oaks Garden Club a few months ago, but had to save it while we waited for features to go live on various wedding blogs. But now I get to share it here and I’m so excited!

The shoot was part of a Pretty and Published workshop put on by Heather Benge Events. If you are a fellow lover of vibrant colors, and are looking for an intimate wedding venue in Houston, then look no further than the River Oaks Garden Club! This is a gorgeous venue in the heart of the city and the design possibilities are endless. Our vendor team had a wide range of personal tastes, so we decided to use that to our advantage and go with a slightly eclectic styling concept.

We all chose an element we loved and then Elizabeth of Elizabeth Abshire Events worked her design magic to bring them all together. Our beautiful florals provided by F. Dellit Designs, included pink peonies, blue and green hydrangea, and greenery. They were very bright and colorful and perfect for our garden setting. We balanced out the brightness of our florals by bringing in a dark blue, satin table runner and chair sashes. We added in a few masculine touches with the furs on the chair backs and the laser cut wood place setting names made by Paper Birch Designs using calligraphy from Calligraphy Cult.

For our bride we chose a simple, elegant, satin gown with beading detail provided by Impression Bridal, and classic hair and makeup.

My favorite element of the entire shoot was THE CAKE!!! The bright, beautiful, delicious looking round, four tier, yellow ombre wedding cake was lovingly prepared for us by Edible Designs by Jessie. The cascade of white, orange, pink and fuchsia sugar flowers added extra pop to this unforgettable showpiece!
