Looking for a wedding venue in Galveston? I’ve got the most complete list of options on Galveston Island and some great locations nearby!

Galveston is such a unique gem in Texas. We’ve got everything from historic estates and museums, to luxurious resorts, beautiful gardens and waterfront views! With such a wide variety of options, there is something to fit any size, theme and ambiance.

HOTEL AND RESORT WEDDING VENUES

Moody Gardens
This unique destination has a variety of options for your wedding ceremony and reception including the rainforest and aquarium pyramids, the Colonel Paddlewheel Boat, Palm Beach Waterpark, Moody Gardens Ballroom and Viewfinders Terrace.

Grand Galvez
Dubbed the “Queen of the Gulf,” the Grand Galvez has luxurious wedding venues with an elegant, modern sophistication. The beautiful grounds offer tons of gorgeous photo backdrops and a relaxing oceanside setting for your guests. The Grand Galvez is suitable for micro weddings and large events.

The San Luis Resort
The San Luis Resort overlooks the Gulf of Mexico and has ballrooms for large weddings up to 500 guests, as well as spaces for intimate micro weddings. The resort also includes a wedding gazebo with ocean views! For an extra splurge, book a villa! With access to a private pool and bar, and your very own hot tub, it’s the perfect way to relax together before and after your event.

The Tremont House
This boutique hotel in Galveston’s Strand/Mechanic Historic District has a selection of intimate spaces for small weddings, and grand ballrooms for large events. You can even rent the Rooftop Bar for great views and a whimsical night under the stars.

Hotel Lucine
This circa 1963 gem got a huge remodel that brought out the midcentury flair, while adding in a ton of modern amenities. They have multiple spaces for any kind of event, including their restaurant The Fancy, and rooftop bar with great views of the Gulf of Mexico. This location is truly perfect for elopements, and small weddings with 55 and fewer guests. Get a room block so you can enjoy a few days of celebration with your favorite people!

The Victorian
Set just across the street from the beach, this condo and resort community can host small and large wedding events.

ESTATE, VILLA, MANSION, AND BED & BREAKFAST WEDDING VENUES

Carr Mansion
This Greek Revival Mansion was built in 1866 and survived The Great Storm of 1900. The solarium in the courtyard is a beautiful ceremony location, while the ballroom and pub are perfect for hosting your reception. The Carr Mansion is perfect for elopements and micro weddings with fewer than 50 people. Carr Mansion is also a recipient of a Michelin Key in 2024 and 2025, so you know you’re in excellent hands.

The 1874 Guest House
This gorgeous historic estate dating to 1874 is a Confectionary Italiante style luxury inn. Every corner of the inn has a mix of old world elegance and modern charm. It’s manicured garden and brick walkways add to the beauty and romance of this unique island gem. Four suites and a carriage house, along with a pool, and gourmet breakfast makes it a perfect place to stay and celebrate. (Note: this location does not allow pets or children.)

Avenue O Bed and Breakfast
This historic Mediterranean style inn in Galveston’s Silk Stocking District was built in 1924 and is the perfect place to host your elopement or small wedding.

Lasker Inn Bed and Breakfast
Historic ambiance with tropical details, spacious suites and numerous entertaining spaces makes Lasker Inn a perfect wedding weekend venue. Richard and Linda have nearly everything you need to style your wedding making it a seamless process from booking to walking the aisle.

Virginia Point Inn Bed and Breakfast
This beautiful corner estate has a spacious garden lawn perfect for an elopement or small wedding event with 50 or fewer guests. Host your reception inside in the dining room, and the large screened in porch overlooking the garden. Four rooms are available for booking and are perfect to keep important guests close. The landscaped pool area is a relaxing escape to wind down after your wedding or elopement festivities.

Adams League Historic Inn
This three story inn in the Silk Stocking District is just blocks from the Seawall and from The Strand! It has eight suites available for booking. The inn can accommodate elopements and small weddings with 50 or few guests. Check out this tour of some of the grounds.

Moody Mansion
Moody Mansion is one of Galveston’s great historic homes. It dates back to 1895 when construction wrapped up. Full of rich, dark wood, and a stunning stained glass window, this property is a perfect choice for lovers of old world elegance. Rentals can accommodate up to 80 people, but this is also and incredible location for elopements! Check this Moody Mansion elopement out!

The George Manor
The George Manor is an award winning bed and breakfast just blocks from the Strand. It has eight suites across multiple buildings on the property. The historic home makes a gorgeous backdrop for small weddings and elopements.

The Mansard House
This former boarding house seen on the show Restoring Galveston was remodeled to a 12 room inn that can host up to 24 guests. The property is available for special events if you rent the entire inn. Take note that this location only allows adults age 25 and up. This would be an optimal location for an adults only intimate wedding weekend.

MUSEUM WEDDING VENUES

The Bryan Museum
Home to a unique collection of pieces that harken to the history of Texas and the American West, this museum has a variety of both indoor and outdoor locations for ceremonies and receptions. The gem is the beautiful glassed in Conservatory in the museum’s garden! Another highlight is the well appointed getting ready suites.

Galveston Railroad Museum
This location is perfect for a travel themed wedding! With options to use the museum’s interior station, the outdoor depot and even the dining cars, you can plan a memorable and inspiring event!

Galveston Naval Museum
History buffs and military personnel looking for a unique wedding backdrop that pays homage to service can get married amidst the USS Stewart and USS Cavala. Located in Seawolf Park this venue also has picturesque views Galveston Bay.

Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig Museum
The retired jack-up drilling rig turned museum formerly operated in the Gulf of Mexico. It’s a unique venue choice for anyone steeping in the history of the oil and gas industry.

BEACH AND WATERFRONT WEDDING VENEUS

Bayside Event Center
Get incredible views of Offatts Bayou and Galveston Bay and maybe chance a dolphin stopping by! This venue offers a front row seat to beautiful Galveston sunsets from its decks and comfort and amenities inside the adjacent ballroom.

Sea Star Base 
This non profit adventure education center has everything sea loving couples need for an epic wedding. An open air chapel and indoor event spaces overlook Offatt’s Bayou and you can charter a vessel for a unique wedding day excursion.

Galveston Island Palms
This venue is specifically for those looking to host an outdoor event. The large covered pavilion keeps the sun and elements off while allowing for full enjoyment of our island ambiance.

Galveston Yacht Basin Marina Bar and Grill

Porretto Beach
This privately owned beach has locations available for beach weddings. You’ll have dedicated space away from beachgoers for a more intimate, private feel. Onsite parking makes it easily accessible for you and your guests.

Seagull II private charter

Bay Queen Riverboat
This unique riverboat style venue can take you and your guests on a scenic tour of Galveston from the water! Tons of custom options are available including catering, tables and chairs, decor, and more. Call 409-572-6786 for options and availability.

Galveston Beach Park Board Locations
The Galveston Beach Park Board has specific beachfront locations that can be reserved for unobstructed Gulf views without interruption or disturbance by the general public. These locations include R.A. Apffel Beach Park, Stewart Beach Park, Dellanera RV Park, and Seawolf Park. Some locations are seasonal or based on local wildlife nesting times.

Galveston Beach Locations
In Galveston you can host your wedding on pretty much any beach! This is especially great for couples who are doing elopements or weddings where their reception will be held at a beach house. Married On Island has a great permit and tip guide for beach weddings on Galveston Island.

RESTAURANT WEDDING VENUES

Willie G’s
From its location on Pier 21, look out onto Galveston Harbor as boats and cruise ships pass by. This contemporary island restaurant can host up to 100 guests.

Fisherman’s Wharf
This restaurant has a variety of spaces that overlook Galveston Harbor and can accommodate small and large weddings for guest counts of 10-300. Each room has a stately nautical feel and great views.

Hearsay on the Strand
Described as “chic antique” this eclectic restaurant venue incorporates industrial elements and luxury details with historic architecture. The creative American cuisine and craft cocktails make for a deliciously festive celebration! According to Visit Galveston, Hearsay has a space for up to 20 and one for up to 60. You’ll need to contact the restaurant directly by calling 409-539-5914 to inquire.

Riondo’s Ristorante
The restaurant in the heart of the Strand has space for celebrations for 2-120. Enjoy Northern Italian cuisine via plated dinners for smaller parties, and buffet options for larger events.

Porch Cafe
Located in the Beachtown community, this island chic, fine dining cafe can service any size event. You can rent a covered porch or banquet room, up to the entire restaurant. This venue also offers wedding ceremonies on the beach, or on their raised passage. Some spaces are seasonal.

Waterman’s Restaurant
Tucked away on Stewart Road, this marina and restaurant has a bar, patio, deck, and private dining spaces overlooking Galveston Bay. Host any size event from 2-300 people. For availability call 409-632-0233.

Sugar and Rye
Sugar and Rye is located in the historic Strand District and has private space available for up to 30 people. Enjoy a private brunch or dinner with craft cocktails in a fun, yet elegant space with a dose of coastal flair. This is an amazing option for couples planning an elopement or micro wedding in Galveston. It’s also a great spot to host rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, and bachelorette meals!

Leeland House Galveston
This neighborhood bistro in the WeMa (west market) area of downtown Galveston is a hot spot for brunch and dinner. For more information on reserving space for a larger party, or for private private gatherings, call 409-497-2047.

Fish Tales
Just across the Seawall from Pleasure Pier, this restaurant has two spaces on its second floor that overlook the Gulf of Mexico. The Cove Room can host up to 85 people. For smaller events, The Sand Bar offers private dining for 16 or fewer guests.

Gaido’s
This island staple has been serving the freshest Gulf seafood since 1911! Gaido’s offers private dining packages for group sizes as small as 20 people, and up to 300.

BLVD Seafood
This location is perfect for a micro wedding. They have a private dining room that can seat 24.

The Spot
Why not host your event reception at this island famous location! Every space here is perfect for parties that embrace the island aesthetic. Reserve the Rumshack for groups up to 120, the Family Patio for groups up to 60, or the Banquet Room for groups up to 48.

Mario’s is part of the Galveston Restaurant Group and can help you with catering AND reception space options for all size parties! Inquire for tours and menus.

Vargas Cut & Catch
This contemporary steakhouse in downtown Galveston has two options for private dining: The EJP Room with a capacity for 20, or the Chef’s Table for 4.

UNIQUE GALVESTON ISLAND WEDDING VENUES

1877 Tall Ship Elissa
Docked at the Texas Seaport Museum, this three masted tall ship and surrounding pier make an historic location for your event. The Elissa’s decks, galleries, officer’s quarters and galley are available for use, making for one of the most unique event spaces in all of Texas! Check rental options here.

1880 Garten Verein
Located in Kempner Park, the Garten Verein is an octagonal shaped, historic dancing pavilion. The Kuhn Memorial Pergola is also included and is a beautiful outdoor spot for a ceremony. This venue has recently been moved to management by the city of Galveston. You’ll need to contact the admin office listed on this contract pdf for further rental information and availability.

1920 City National Bank Building
This historic national bank building was donated to the Galveston Historical Foundation in June 2020 and has undergone extensive renovations. While this venue isn’t listed on the GHF website as an option for event rental, they are taking limited bookings for events with up to 100 guests. You must have a reputable, insured wedding planner to host an event here. I recommend Haylee from Water to Wine Events. Catch a glimpse of this location here.

The Artisan Galveston
Brought to you by the Save 1900 team Ashley and Michael Cordray, comes a rustic industrial event venue in downtown Galveston! This historic building has hosted all kinds of artisans since the early 1900’s including wood and metal workers. The venue has indoor and outdoor spaces and can host up to 300 people.

Darragh Park
This quiet neighborhood park is located in the East End Historic District and can be rented for a half or full day. There is also a nearby cottage that can be rented.

Roof Garden
Sitting above the Strand this venue has an elegant indoor ballroom great for moderate to traditional sized weddings. Your rental also includes the balcony with its picturesque views of downtown Galveston!

The Trolley Station
Located in Galveston’s historic Strand District, the Trolley Station has vast space and amenities for your wedding. An historic, minimalist warehouse feel makes it a great blank canvas for any styling direction you’re inspired to go!

Beinville Wine Bar
Reminiscent of an upscale wine bar in the French Quarter, this New Orleans inspired meeting place is still distinctly historic Galveston. Classic brickwork, angled mirrors, and one of the last remaining courtyards on the island make the space feel sophisticated yet welcoming.

The 1946 Mezzanine
This downtown event space is perfect for events with 75 or fewer guests. The exposed brick gives a historic feel, and street access makes it convenient for guests! A rental includes use of tables and chairs, and there’s also an option to rent the onsite townhome for getting ready the day of your event!

The Lyceum
The 2nd lyceum (a hall for public lectures, debates and entertainment) built in the Republic of Texas, this historic building dates to 1845. Full of history including surviving the 1900 Storm, this unique building features wood floors and stained glass windows.

Peanut Butter Warehouse
This historic industrial warehouse venue features original brickwork and wood accents. It’s location on the 2nd floor offers views of Galveston Harbor.

MarMo Plaza
This unique building used to be a bank, but has been lovingly renovated to offer event space for those looking for a more contemporary aesthetic. Floor to ceiling windows and blank walls allow you to make the space whatever you want. Think art gallery meets mid-century modern vibes. The outdoor plaza is perfect to host your ceremony and dancing.

The Barrel Room
This event and party venue is located in Galveston’s West Market District. It features a built in bar and projection screen in the indoor space and a 2nd floor 1100 square ft. rooftop deck!

Theos Galveston
Theos is just steps from The Strand in downtown Galveston. It features a large hall with exposed brick and masonry and can host up to 140 guests seated.

Historic Galveston Water and Electric Light Community Center
This historic red brick building was constructed in 1904 and housed the city’s horse drawn fire department, water pump and electric generator. The center is available to rent via the City of Galveston Parks and Rec Department.

Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings onboard the Disney Cruise Line
On select dates the Disney Cruise Line ships set sail from Galveston to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean. Disney Cruise weddings offer lots of options for ceremony and reception spaces including the opulent atrium with its grand staircase, the aft deck, or on land at Disney’s private island Castaway Cay.

CRYSTAL BEACH WEDDING VENUES

Crystal Beach Resort
This two mansion beachfront resort sleeps 60 people. The homes are connected by a “sky bridge” and have an unobstructed view of the Gulf of Mexico. There are two bars, covered wrap around porches, expansive lawn and easy beach access making this an ultimate beach wedding venue.

Crystal Beach Villa
Welcome your guests to this luxurious, Mediterranean style villa on the intracoastal waterway. The villa features an outdoor kitchen, open and covered decks, hammocks, a palapa, an expansive lawn, and beautiful landscaping. With five bedrooms that can sleep up to 16 people, there is plenty of room to spread out for getting ready and relaxing throughout your wedding celebration.

Camp Margaritaville RV Resort
This resort has an event space for every kind and size of group. This is the place to be for laid back fun with lots of amenities. Camp Margaritaville now has onsite RV rentals too!

A Sea Glass Estate
This 1.7 acre beachfront estate has a wraparound porch, sun deck, and covered patio with a tiki bar.

WEDDING VENUES NEAR GALVESTON

South Shore Harbour Resort
This resort in League City has indoor and outdoor spaces and picturesque views of Clear Lake. The Marina Plaza Ballroom has waterfront views and the Crystal Ballroom can accommodate a large guest list. Room blocks are available for out of town guests and you can even rent a party boat!

Waters Edge
Located a short drive from Galveston in El Lago, Texas, this 2.5 acre site sits on the shore of Clear Lake.  A spacious indoor ballroom, outdoor bar, patio, expansive lawn and palm tree lined walkway leading down to the water gives your guests the ultimate seaside experience. This gorgeous venue has a destination wedding feel close to home.

Boardwalk FantaSea
Cruise through Clear Lake and Galveston with up to 128 guests on a luxurious yacht! Host your ceremony and then celebrate with dinner, toasts and dancing. The decks are climate controlled for comfort year round.

Sundance Grill II
Located at Waterford Harbor Marina in Kemah, Texas, you can host your event overlooking the docks and sailboats.

Haak Vineyards and Winery
Located in Santa Fe, Texas this 12 acre estate has an outdoor wedding chapel, covered pavilion and open air patio, all just steps from the grapevines. For small events you can even rent the incredible wine cellar!
