Darrick and Annie were in town for a quiet beach vacation. They had rented a house in Sea Isle Beach to relax and enjoy the Gulf. Little did Annie know, a few weeks before their arrival, Darrick reached out to us at Flytographer to start planning a very sweet Galveston Island proposal.

He knew he wanted to propose on the beach and decided to do it with a message in a bottle. He wrote a love letter about what an amazing woman she is and how he has cherished all their time together. For added effect, he even burned the edges of the paper to give it an aged look. He rolled it up and stuck it a yellow bottle which he then planted near a large piece of driftwood on the beach.

The Big Moment

Darrick told Annie, since it was such a nice day they should go out on the beach to see if someone would take a photo of them before going to get dinner. He led her down the path to the beach and wandered over to the driftwood where she found the bottle. As she laughed and cried reading the letter, Darrick dropped to one knee. She turned to look at him with tears welled in her eyes. He asked her to marry him and of course she said yes!

After they had a minute to gather themselves we spent some time taking photos to fully document the moment. We walked along the beach and enjoyed dipping our toes into the water. As the sun set, the sky over the ocean turned to a watercolor of lavender and blue and we had the most gorgeous light! It was like a whimsical painting and my heart jumped for joy over the photos we captured. I even grabbed a few photos of them on their cell phone so they could share the news with family on their way to dinner that night.

It was so fun to be part of such a heartfelt proposal that meant the world to this couple.
