Leah and Tori’s modern wedding at NOAH’s Event Venue in Sugar Land, Texas, was all about family and fun. They took a relaxed, understated approach and kept the details simple, while pouring into their entertainment.
They paired bold navy blue with a soft pink color palette and added in hints of gold for flair. On the bold side, Leah rocked at a navy blue suit, white shirt and a pink tie with a floral motif, all from Banana Republic. Her man of honor and a bridesman wore similar blue suits with ties that matched her own. Her sister served as maid of honor and also wore navy blue while the bridesmaids wore soft pink.
Tori’s gorgeous ball gown and beaded belt from BHLDN were simply enchanting. Of course our relentless and never-ending Texas summer had her opting for an up-do. Her two sisters were maids of honor and wore navy blue dresses while her bridesmaids wore pink.
The ladies opted to do a first look to shed the nerves before the ceremony and so they could get a load of each other in their duds! We snuck off to the small courtyard on the side of the venue for a little privacy. Leah was taken with how beautiful Tori looked in her dress.
While we finished up some couple photos, guests made their way to the ceremony room. The space was decorated with a sheer drapery backdrop with twinkle back lighting. We had an apprehensive flower girl so one of the couple’s nephews recessed back down the aisle to help her toss the petals.
The short 15 minute ceremony ended with a ring exchange, joyful tears and a sweet first kiss by the Mrs. and Mrs. After the ceremony we utilized the pretty backdrop for an image Tori had special requested; a photo of her and her wife kissing while their respective set of parents also kissed. It’s such a sweet photo that shows the generations of love.
Following the ceremony, guests moved into the main hall. The couple had opted for contemporary Edison bulb ceiling lighting which looked really industrial yet modern. Their color scheme showed up in the navy blue linens and pink accent lighting. My lantern obsession was fed with the iron lantern centerpieces (such a great and versatile option…just sayin) which each had battery operated floral lights inside. A great touch of whimsy if you ask me. Personalized cookies with the couple’s names and wedding date were set out at each place setting. And of course I have to mention the sign at the bar that said “be aware that photographers will be capturing your drunken moments for all time.”
Speeches, eating and dancing ensued, but my favorite moment of the night was the cake cutting. The act of carefully feeding each other a piece of cake quickly turned into a cake smash. They both walked away with a face full of frosting and uncontrollable laughter!
To close out the night the remaining guests, led by the wedding party, sent the girls off to their honeymoon with a sparkler exit.
